We’re looking for an energetic, culture-driven, problem-solving, media aficionado to join The Fitting Room. This person will support the Head of Hype across PR and influencer accounts. We’re looking for someone hungry to help build something different, helping drive hype across all work we deliver for clients, whilst working alongside the wider teams of Legacy and Demand, to create truly compelling campaigns.
As an agency with clients across hospitality, food and drink, fashion and music, being out and about is core to the role. From helping to run red carpets for events, supporting influencer visits, to networking to help deliver the objectives of the wider business. Being sociable is key to this role – it’s in your natural weekly cycle to be out connecting with people, and maintaining a wide network of contacts.
On a day-to-day basis you will helping to deliver coverage for clients, across both traditional media and social platforms, along with a focus on emerging channels to build brands and clients e.g. Clubhouse and podcasts.
The day-to-day
- Selling in stories to the media (newspapers, magazines, radio, television and online news sites) across a range of subjects (focusing on listings, product and venue reviews, FMCG trade)
- Building and relationships with key media contacts and maintaining a little black book of contacts
- Liaising with clients regarding press campaigns, creative projects and PR solutions
- Providing innovative and creative ideas to clients
- Keeping clients up to date on press campaigns and media opportunities
- Analysing PR coverage and providing written reports
- Presenting reports back and communicating results effectively to a range of stakeholders
- Helping manage a portfolio of clients’ PR accounts under the guidance of the Head of Hype
- Providing strategic counsel to clients to aid their PR and wider marketing campaigns
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Daily point of contact with key media contacts
- Helping develop venue and product focused PR campaigns
- Helping manage clients under the guidance of the Head of Hype
- Contributing to client meetings, and liaising and updating clients on PR activities
- Keeping abreast of current PR trends and tools across both traditional media platforms, and new platforms (social media, podcasting, Clubhouse etc.)
- Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople
- Spearheading both traditional PR and social projects – a strong knowledge of social media is a plus
- Developing news angles, feature stories and pitches to further the client’s profile, products and services, leveraging key calendar moments and trends withing
- Being involved in pitching for new business and developing PR proposals
- Managing a high level of client interaction

- Strong FMCG industry knowledge and experience in building influential networks

Relevant experience
- Experience of directing business to consumer (B2C) PR accounts
- Agency experience is preferred
- Evidence of copywriting, marketing and report writing, social media, event management and client liaison skills
- Strong communication with excellent presentation and data analysis capabilities
- Aptitude to build a network of influencers and press commentators
- Industry knowledge and contacts
Minimum 3 years’ experience within PR and media
Salary: £27-£30k
