I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM
When our client Turtle Bay, one of the UK’s largest casual dining brands, briefed us on their Camden launch we heard three words, Reggae, Rum and Summer. We instantly knew that this was our opportunity to bring Caribbean sun and craziness to the streets of North London and celebrate this the only way we know how, with true hype at its core.
HEATING UP THE HYPE
It was August, ice cream is a British summer, rum punch is Caribbean. How do we bring these together? The nostalgia of an ice cream truck.
We embraced all things Turtle Bay. We designed and took over a fully branded truck and island vibes (plus some amazing music) around the roads of Camden. We delivered to media houses from the likes of Vogue House, Paramount and Dr Martens, serving up Rum and Raisin & vegan coconut ice cream and Wray and Nephew rum slushies. Who wouldn’t love this in the London heat or as a midday lunch treat?!
DRIPPING IN DEMAND
How could we not also bring this good time to consumers throughout Camden, letting them know Turtle Bay was launching. We had our demand team on site to capture content from the public queuing to delivering bounce back vouchers with a 10% discount. Thus driving footfall directly into the venue that was due to open the following week. I’m sure the team couldn’t wait to see the same faces come to the restaurant.
LEADING WITH THE LEGACY
Driving (literally) and serving the customers ice creams was the incredible and celebrity Caribbean cook, Executive Head Chef, Collin Brown.
Collin, Jamaica’s most awarded chef, inspired the Turtle Bay’s menu across the UK from the island. With his 10+ years of experience in the hospitality industry and bringing world class Caribbean touches to Turtle Bay, it only seemed right that the public got to see his work first hand. Plus who doesn’t love all the behind the scenes and human touch to the dishes and treats they’re having? Everyone loves Collin and the great energy he brings when he comes out to his customers.
