Popeyes was launching in the UK and needed to merge the cultural significance of the brand and British nuances to give a UK flex. People queued for hours in the US for the Chicken Sandwich, so we needed to recreate that hype IRL and digitally.
We launched the brand on TikTok, working with recently viral JY MNTL, who were about to launch their first EP. We re-wrote the lyrics to JayZ’s PSA and produced the video in the style of GRM’s Daily Duppy’s - very IFYYK.
Supporting our activity was a competition across our social channels to find the ‘Day Ones’ driving UGC and engagement ahead of launch.
